His Eminence Archbishop of Contantina, Aristarchos (in the world Anthony) Peristeris, was born at Prinia of Malevyzio, Crete in 1948. He came to Jerusalem in 1962. Graduating from the Patriarchal School in 1966 he was tonsured Monk. In 1969 he was anointed Deacon and in 1970 Priest. He received the Office of Archimandrite in 1973. He is a graduate of the School of Philosophy and Theology of the University of Athens.

He served as Principal of the Patriarchal School from 1975 to 1988. In
1988 he was appointed Chief Editor of the “New Sion” journal. In 1990 he was Appointed Elder of Camarasis and was appointed Director of the Special Office of his Beatitude as well as his Counsel. In 1991 he was appointed Member of the Holy and Sacred Synod and in 1992 Librarian.

In October 1988 he was elected and anointed Bishop of Constantina. In 2000 he was elevated to Archbishop of Constantina.
In 2001 he took over the managing of the Patriarchal Offices as Secretary General.
He accompanied Patriarch Diodoros to Bulgaria, Romania and Serbia, in his official visits. In 2005 he was named Elder Secretary General.
