His Eminence Archbishop of Thabor,  Methodios (in the world Nicholas) Liveris was born in Viro of Corfu in 1935. He came to Jerusalem in 1953 where he studied at the Patriarchal School from where he graduated in 1959.
In 1957 he was tonsured Monk and soon after he was ordained Deacon and served as Secretary of the Selection Council and co-producer of the journal “New Sion”.
Following his ordination to Priest in 1959 he was appointed in
succession, Patriarchal Commissioner to Ptolemaid (1959), Abbot of the Holy Monastery of the Holy Forerunner in Jerusalem (1967), Exarch of the Most Holy Sepulchre in Cyprus (1970) and Abbot of the Mother of God Monument in Gesthemane (1979). In 1963 he was elevated to Archimandrite.
In 1982 he was appointed Abbot at the town Betzala and at the same time entered the Theological School of Athens. In 1987 he was appointed Patriarchal Commissioner to Bethlehem and in 1994 Abbot of the Holy Monastery of Saint George at Betzala (at Hader). In 2001 he was appointed Member of the Holy and Sacred Synod, overseer of the Typicon of the Monastery of Saints Constantine and Helen and Treasurer of the Sacred Commons of the Most Holy Sepulchre.
In 2003 he was appointed Vice-President of the Economic Council and member of the Ecclesiastic Appellate of Jerusalem maintaining at the same time the positions of Treasurer and overseer of the Typicon.
On 18-11-2005 he was elected Archbishop of Thabor and was appointed President of the Economic Council. His ordination took place at the Most Holy Church of the Resurrection on 28-11-2005.
